SafeHer, Inc. (“SafeHer,” “we,” “us,” “our”) operates Watchdog, a platform that helps individuals and organizations monitor the internet for potential misuse of a person’s name, image, and likeness (“NIL”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and share personal information when you use Watchdog, including:

  • Watchdog Consumer

  • Watchdog Enterprise

  • Watchdog Family Plans

  • The Watchdog iOS App

  • Any related websites, dashboards, or services

This Privacy Policy applies to all users except where we explicitly identify Enterprise provisions that apply only to business customers and their authorized users.

If you do not agree to this Policy, please do not use Watchdog.

2. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of information:

A. Information You Provide

Account Information (Consumers and Enterprise Users)

  • Full name

  • Email address

  • Password (hashed; we do NOT store plaintext passwords)

  • Country/region

  • Optional demographic fields

Family Plan Information
If you add dependents or family members, you may provide:

  • Their name

  • Their age or birth year

  • Their reference images

  • Their social media handles

➡️ By adding a family member, you represent you have legal authority to do so (parent/guardian for minors).

Uploaded Images and Videos
Users may upload:

  • Reference photos of themselves or dependents

  • Images or screenshots they want monitored
    These are stored securely and processed only for monitoring and alerting.

Enterprise Customer Uploads (Agents, Teams, Agencies)
Agencies may upload information about talent they represent.
This may include:

  • Name

  • Image

  • Email or handles

  • Monitoring preferences

Enterprise customers represent they have legal authority to upload such data.

B. Information We Collect Automatically

When you use Watchdog, we automatically collect:

Device and App Usage Data

  • Device type, OS version, and browser type

  • IP address and region

  • App performance data, crashes, diagnostics

  • Page views, navigation patterns

Log Data

  • Dates/times of login

  • Feature usage

  • API request activity

Cookies and Similar Technologies
We use cookies to improve performance, remember preferences, and secure sessions.

C. Information Collected Through Monitoring

To provide Watchdog’s monitoring services, we collect:

Alert Data

  • Public URLs where your name, image, or likeness appear

  • Text snippets

  • Website metadata

  • Publicly available social media or web content

We ONLY surface alerts — we do not remove or modify online content.

Search Queries
When you search for a person inside Watchdog (“Gutcheck”), we store:

  • First and last name

  • Age or age range

  • Location

  • Search parameters

These are used solely to return search results.

D. Payment Information

Payments are processed by Stripe.

We DO NOT store:

  • Full credit card numbers

  • CVV/codes

We DO store:

  • Stripe customer ID

  • Subscription ID

  • Billing status

  • The last four digits of the card (provided by Stripe)

E. Biometric / Facial Data

Important:
SafeHer does NOT store facial embeddings or raw biometric templates within Watchdog.

However:

  • Facial embeddings used for profile verification are stored in AWS Rekognition, as part of the Verified ecosystem.

  • This data is used only for identity matching and securely retained according to AWS’s storage rules.

We store:

  • Reference images you upload

  • Metadata returned by AWS (match confidence, match/no-match outcomes)

We do not store or access the underlying facial vectors.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use personal information to:

A. Provide and Improve Services

  • Create and maintain your Watchdog account

  • Surface potential misuse of your identity

  • Generate daily or periodic alerts

  • Support advanced search features (Gutcheck)

  • Improve app performance and usability

B. Process Transactions

  • Manage subscriptions

  • Detect payment failures

  • Handle renewals and cancellations

C. Communicate with You

  • Send alerts

  • Send account notifications

  • Provide support and troubleshooting

D. Ensure Security and Compliance

  • Detect fraud or misuse

  • Enforce our Terms of Use

  • Meet legal obligations

E. Enterprise Use Cases

For business customers, we may use contact and account information to:

  • Provision seats

  • Authenticate authorized users

  • Provide administrative reporting

4. How We Share Information

We share your information only as described below:

A. Service Providers

We use third-party vendors for:

  • Payment processing (Stripe)

  • Cloud hosting (AWS)

  • Email and notifications

  • App analytics

  • Facial comparison (AWS Rekognition)

All vendors are under contractual confidentiality requirements.

B. Enterprise Administrators

If you are part of an enterprise account:
Your agency/team may view:

  • Your name

  • Your enrollment status

  • High-level usage (e.g., active/inactive)

They cannot view your private alerts unless you grant permission.

C. Legal Requirements

We may disclose information if required by law, subpoena, or government request.

D. Business Transfers

If SafeHer undergoes a merger, acquisition, or sale, your data may be transferred as part of the transaction.

5. Your Privacy Choices

You may:

  • Update your account information

  • Upload or delete images

  • Disable monitoring of specific social media links

  • Delete your account

  • Request access to a copy of your data

6. Retention

We retain:

  • Account data while your subscription is active

  • Images until deleted by the user

  • Alert logs for up to 12 months

  • Enterprise audit logs for 12–24 months

  • Payment records as required by law

Upon account deletion:

  • Most data is deleted within 30 days

  • Backups purge within 90 days

7. Children’s Privacy (COPPA & State Laws)

Watchdog is not intended for direct use by individuals under 18.

However, minors may be added to a Family Plan only by a parent or legal guardian.

Parents/guardians must:

  • Provide consent

  • Provide accurate information

  • Manage all interactions on behalf of the minor

SafeHer complies with COPPA, plus enhanced state-level protections including California, Colorado, and Connecticut.

8. Security

We use industry-standard safeguards, including:

  • TLS 1.2+ encryption

  • AES-256 encrypted storage

  • Access controls and MFA

  • SOC 2–aligned cloud infrastructure

No system is perfectly secure, but we make commercially reasonable efforts to protect data.

9. Your Rights (CCPA / CPRA / State Privacy Laws)

Depending on your state of residence, you may have rights to:

  • Access your personal information

  • Correct inaccurate data

  • Delete your data

  • Opt out of selling/sharing (we do not sell data)

  • Limit use of sensitive information

10. International Users

Watchdog operates exclusively in the U.S.
Data is stored and processed in U.S. regions only.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically.
We will notify users of material changes via email or in-app notification.
